Books Illustrated went Back to Booktown in Clunes last weekend (May 5 and 6)

It was a great couple of days for Books Illustrated at Clunes Back to Booktown this year!

A diverse exhibition of giclee prints by over 20 illustrators from all over Australia -
and lots of beautiful picture books. There was a real buzz for the books and the Anns
were as busy as bees - Ann Haddon introducing the books and artwork to the constant
throng of keen book lovers - and Ann James drawing and painting.
Ann James demonstrated illustration techniques all day, both days - with a backdrop of an illustrations
including one from her new book, It's a Miroocool   - a picture book prequel to the Audrey of the Outback series, written by Christine Harris, published by Little Hare. She enjoyed every minute, and the audience too.
It's always fun watching people work - and lots of chatter flowed back and forth.
There were familiar faces from past years - and new ones too.
Some families are even collecting Ann's pictures from each year!
Books are shared across generations of course - and this year's
newest faces will come back to visit next year!
